Here is a quick look at what CrowdSource Rescue users were able to accomplish during Hurricane Florence. A more detailed after-action report will be compiled, but in the meantime we wanted to give a quick look at our impact!
Please show 50 Star Sar, Salt Water Rescue, and Geaux Rescue some love on Facebook or, better yet, donate directly to their efforts. They were some of the best SAR teams in the field and were a joy to work with.
Quite a few media outlets helped spread CrowdSource Rescue as a "go-to" resource.
We appeared on 3 cable TV shows and in approximately 128 news articles throughout the storm. This was particularily useful while Florence approached, as it helped our civilian rescuers numbers swell. The more eyeballs, the more rescuers, the more people saved.
Our web platform was viewed a staggering 2,500,000 times. We received 1,456 requests for rescues and were able to close 97% of them within 48 hours thanks to heroic civilian rescuers and volunteer dispatchers.

Carolinan Rescuers, those who were active with a boat or a high water truck and able to respond to cases.
All registrants, including rescuers, volunteers, and users. So many that the map looks solid green when zoomed out... good problems!
